From September 11 to 15, 2022, the National Drinking Water Office (ONEP), took part in the International Water Association (IWA) Congress and Exhibition, which was held in Copenhagen, Denmark around the theme: « l’eau pour des villes innovantes/intelligentes et vivables ».
This meeting was initiated to bring together water and sanitation professionals, also involving water consuming industry, agriculture, architects and urban planners, hydrologists and soil and groundwater experts. , social sciences, ICT sector, financial sector, among others.
This forum, which brought together all the players in the water and sanitation sector, was a window for ONEP to present its missions and present the expertise of its Laboratory for Analysis and Quality Control of Water (LACQUE), through an exhibition in a stand and the participation of the Director General of ONEP, Mr. BERTE Ibrahiman, in high-level panels, in order to attract potential donors and technical partners.
The ONEP stand recorded several visitors from all over the world, including Mr. Bouaké FOFANA, Minister of Hydraulics, Sanitation and Health, Mr. Sylvain USHER, Executive Director of AfWA and Mr. Ahmadou BAKAYOKO , CEO of SODECI.
These visits carried out in the presence of Mr. Ibrahiman BERTE, Director General of ONEP made it possible to open a framework for exchanges on the next meeting of the 21th AfWA Congress, scheduled for February 19 to 23, 2023 in Abidjan. The Minister provided advice to the actors involved in the organization of this major event.
Need we remind you that the closing ceremony, held on September 15, 2022, at the Bella center in Copenhagen, was an opportunity for the Minister of Hydraulics, Sanitation and Health to launch an appeal to experts, technical and financial partners, for effective participation in the 21th AfWA Congress, thus will be able to continue the enriching debates in order to alleviate the problems of water and sanitation in Africa.
